Photo by @davidburnettfoto // The 2018 Winter Games in #Korea have been an opportunity to explore the intersection of sport and photo technology. During the Ski Cross final race for Gold, (4 racers start at the top of the hill, and essentially come through the course ‘drag race’ style - in this case two of the racers crashed on the top of the course, and were delayed) I used an ‘app’ for the @sonyalpha a6500 camera which, in camera, lets you create sequential movement photographs. I have no idea how it knows, but it does seem to figure it all out, and in a few seconds of ‘processing' yields a still version of what you more or less saw with your eyes on the course. I stopped shooting when the winner hit the finish line (left) letting you see the the distance he won by as the other racer was just at the top of the last hill. It’s wild to be able to experiment when there is such athletic talent in front of you. This is essentially the first time I ever used the “Motion Shot” app. I suspect this kind of technology will, like most innovations, be over-used, but it nonetheless is quite interesting when have a situation for which it seems to feel like the perfect way to express what you are seeing. photograph ©2018 David Burnett/IOC/Contact #olympics #skiing #winterolympics @オリンピック
