Today marks the start of #WomensHistoryMonth, and we’re challenging you to name #5WomenArtists. We set the same challenge for Katy Hessel, of @thegreatwomenartists who has selected her favourite five from Tate’s collection to share throughout today.

'Who better to start with than the @guerrillagirls - the anonymous feminist art collective devoted to fighting sexism and racism within the art world. Founded in the mid-80s with a mission to challenge inequality, the activist art collective (who dress in iconic gorilla masks and go by the names of deceased female artists!) have spent the past three decades unveiling shocking statistics about the gender imbalance at museums and galleries around the world.’ - Katy
