Photo by @Cristina Mittermeier // As I have been editing images for a new book, I am entertaining myself with images of people wearing “interesting stuff on their head”. I photographed this child at a cultural festival in the highlands of New Guinea. I had to smile when I learned that instead of using the feathers of the endangered Birds of Paradise, this headdress was made out of coloured chicken feathers, which I thought was beautiful.
