Contrails filling the star filled skies at night high above #JoshuaTreeNationalPark. Life in the Mojave Desert is tough and for the #JoshuaTree it's been an ongoing uphill battle. With heat index on the rise and compounded years of drought new j-tree sprouts are struggling. In fact, in 30% of the park new sprouts haven't been seen in decades due to a rise in temperatures. Scientist are saying that by the year 2100 that the park could potentially see a loss in 90% of Joshua tree habitat prompting the question: what would Joshua Tree National Park be called if there were no J Trees left? / Photographed #onassignment for @ナショナルジオグラフィック / #climatechange
