?? Participated in an incredibly interesting panel discussion on ending "child marriage" for girls in African rural areas yesterday. This illegal act of violence and rape is still deeply embedded in many cultures, and it’s our job to educate the communities and girls about their rights. We cannot be bystanders, and rely just on others or governments to solve this problem alone. It’s end will come through teamwork on every level-- in the field to governments and NGO's. Worldwide today, every 2 seconds a child gets “married." Thank you @unwomen for leading the conversation year after year, and thank you @planinternational letting me join and share some of my experience I’ve had with some of those girls. #CSW62 #endchildmarriage
