AISHA!!!!! 8 month’s ago we hugged in London, as you smiled through the pain in your foot then limped off the track. For 8 months you worked. You succeeded and struggled, you ran, ate, slept and repeated, and you had a singular focus that was Commonwealth. You had will, strength, poise, patience and guts. You did it. You are the Commonwealth Games Champion.
Those that know Aisha can attest to this, but she is truly one of the best people I know. She has an unbelievable gift of making you feel loved and supported. She puts her friends and loved ones above all else. She has a one-of-a-kind laugh. She loves avocado toast and brunch like the best of us. She prefers to cook while listening to Funk music and drives to NPR. She loves snuggles with her pup instead of naps. She is a warrior on race day. She is a light when things are dark. And now, she is a champion.
I’m so proud of you @aishapraughtleer. Also!!! I’m so proud of @joebosshard. In his first 18 months coaching, he has coached a World Championship victory and a Commonwealth Games victory. The results speak for themselves, but what’s more important is that he makes us believe, makes us work harder than we think we’re capable of, holds us back sometimes when we want to push, and challenges us to be our best.
