Here’s some pictures of my seed starting setup. (I raised the lights so i could get the pic obviously) My girl Christy @gardenerd1 hooked me up with the awesome light on the left and I got the small one on the right just cause I was running out of space.
The plastic on the right is covering the seeds that haven’t sprouted yet, to keep them humid. Ive got heating pads under everything as well to keep the temperature consistent.
I’ve got some insane seedlings sprouting right now. Wild strawberries are just showing their tiny, super fragile leaves, while my beans and melons are growing big and tall like no ones business.
I have tomato sproutlings in there, as well as, peas, zucchini, squash, watermelon and melons (the melons are heirloom seeds straight from my friends dad in Kazakhstan). I stopped using the @malibucompost potting soil because the ph is off the charts high and switched to #blackgoldpottingsoil, added some @downtoearthfertilizers ”all purpose” blend and everything is sprouting beautifully this way.
Now I gotta get my potting soil tests back to see which one I’m going to use as my basic growing medium from here on out. I’ve actually sent 3 different organic commercial brands to get tested, so I’ll for sure post the results. They should be back by the end of the week.? BTW, I’m also testing my native soil to see if it’s any good because obviously that would be the most convenient and cost efficient route.
