Gio Ponti’s ‘D.859.1’ table was originally designed to sit atop a Manhattan skyscraper inside the Milanese masters’s Time & Life Building. 60 years later, this crown jewel has been revived by Molteni & C, who have a 10-year exclusive licence with the Gio Ponti archives. They had to rely on the vast trove of technical drawings to recreate the piece for its reveal at Salone del Mobile this week. Find out more via link in bio and in the May issue, out now.
