Half of the park is after dark, and nowhere is that more true than #GreatBasin National Park. Low humidity and minimal light pollution combined with the park’s high elevation provide park goers a unique window into our galaxy. On a clear, moonless night, you can see thousands of stars, five of our solar system's eight planets, star clusters, meteors, man-made satellites, the Andromeda Galaxy and the #MilkyWay with the naked eye. Bristlecone pines -- some that were saplings when light left distant stars thousands of years ago -- are a unique place for stargazing.
