This week we’re celebrating the launch of @TateCollective by highlighting artwork in the galleries made by artists when they were aged 16-25.

Astoundingly prolific during his brief career, #EgonSchiele is known for his intimate and emotionally charged portraits. This self-portrait was painted at 24 years old, four years before the artist’s early death of influenza at age 28.

Egon Schiele, Standing male figure (self-portrait) 1914. This portrait will be on display in #LifeinMotion at @tateliverpool from 24 May 2018 alongside the sublime photography of #FrancescaWoodman.
