In the province of Huehuetenango, un Guatemala, up in the mountains, I reached the Mirador de la Cumbre located 12 kilometers upstream from Todos Santos Cuchumatán. This mirador perched at 3500m above sea level was also named Mirador Juan Diégez Olaverri, the poet who composed the ode A los Cuchumatanes. These verses are engraved on the pyramidal stones in the center of the Mirador.
There, while the sun was slowly warming the earth, and the souls, I met a small community of children living nearby.
LE MIRADOR
Dans la province de Huehuetenango, sur les hauteurs, au Guatemala, j'ai atteint le Mirador de la Cumbre situé à 12 kilomètres en amont de Todos Santos Cuchumatán. Ce mirador perché à 3500m d’altitude a également reçu le nom de Juan Diégez Olaverri, ce poète auteur de l’ode A los Cuchumatanes. Ces vers sont gravés sur les pierres pyramidales au centre du Mirador.
Là-haut, alors que les rayons du soleil réchauffaient lentement la terre et les âmes, j'ai rencontré un petit groupe d'enfants qui vivaient dans les environs.
