Our fates intertwined when he already was a famous artist and I was still an unknown tenor and lounge pianist. The encounter with Zucchero was very important. I auditioned and recorded the lyrical passages in “Miserere”… Everything started with this song, so unique and profound that it couldn’t be compared to anything else. It was 1992 and the well-known Italian bluesman (who later on became a friend of mine) was looking for a voice to record in the demo of his new song, that he would perform with Pavarotti. The rest is history.

Il destino ha incrociato le nostre vite, quando lui era già un artista celebre, nel mondo, ed io ero uno sconosciuto tenore e pianista di pianobar... Quello con Zucchero è stato un incontro importante. Feci un provino, incisi gli inserti lirici del brano “Miserere”... Tutto parte da questa canzone, così originale e profonda al punto che non assomigliava a nessun’altra. Era il 1992 ed il celebre bluesman italiano (col quale poi sarei diventato amico) cercava una nuova voce per registrare il demo del suo nuovo brano, che avrebbe interpretato poi con Pavarotti. Il resto è storia nota.
