The World at Night project
Many of the world’s observatories are also prime areas for stargazing and emerging astro-tourism thanks to the natural dark skies being preserved, the view which is lost to most people on the planet due to our own lights.
Here I was in the southern outskirts of Chile’s Atacama Desert on La Silla Observatory during an imaging assignment for European Southern Observatory @esoastronomy. The galactic core rises over La Silla peak with bright star Antares on the top left.
