@loewefoundation latest exhibition ‘Peter Hujar and David Wojnarowicz,’ will be on view from 4 June to 26 August 2018 at Gran Via 8, Madrid.
The exhibition treats both men as autonomous artists whose work stands proudly on its own, yet inextricably linked by a fateful friendship; analogous traumatic personal backstories; and a shared attitude towards life, namely a commitment to engage with human reality —from joy and anger to love and death, covering the entire spectrum in between— through their work. In particular, the exhibition reveals the profound impact Hujar had on Wojnarowicz as a mentor.
