Ring-tailed lemurs sit in what our keepers call a "yoga position" with their bellies toward the sun and their arms and legs stretched out to the sides. This position maximizes the exposure of the less densely covered underside of the lemurs to the sun, warming them up before they forage.

Soak up some sun on June 23! The Smithsonian will mark the first Saturday of summer—Solstice Saturday—by staying open late and hosting parties, programs, and performances.
