One more for our #MuseumInstaSwap with @studiomuseum!
The Studio Museum in Harlem's exhibition "Firelei Báez: Joy Out of Fire" continues the artist’s longstanding interest in representations of women, particularly Afro-Caribbean/Afro-Latina women in visual culture and history. It's currently on view at the @schomburgcenter.
#FireleiBez was also involved in our 2011 exhibition “Museum as Hub: Alpha’s Bet Is Not Over Yet.” She was among a group of artists invited to create a poster inspired by the American Library Association’s READ campaign, which were then displayed in the exhibition.
