Photo by Pete McBride (@pedromcbride) Fire on the Mountain: My home town is ablaze with a wildfire now raging some 5,000 acres wide and little containment. Thanks to the heroics and bravery of pilots flying slurry planes and the firefighters on the ground, much of this mountain community is spared for now, even though the fire continues. Tragically, some residents, including firefighters, lost their homes due to the irresponsibility of a few that initiated the blaze. Hotter and dryer conditions throughout Colorado due to a changing climate are allowing wildfires to start earlier, more often and last longer.
