These are the seats for the Kabuki play. Huge mortar-shaped trees shoot up here and there from amidst the stone steps. They are so tall you can’t resist looking up at them. When the plays are given during the summer these seats become completely filled, and the arena seats in front of the stage are packed full by Kabuki fans and local residents.

歌舞伎の舞台の観客席。
すり鉢状で、石段のところどころに巨木がそびえ立っています。
その壮大さに、上を見上げずにいられません。
夏の歌舞伎公演時、観客席（スタンド席）は満員となり、
舞台前の広場（アリーナ席）も歌舞伎ファンや地元の人たちで埋め尽くされます。

今年は8月18日(土)の18時から、この舞台で、鎮守神祭礼奉納歌舞伎が上演されます。
