These iconic arctic beasts can grow up to nearly 12ft long and weigh over 3,000 pounds. Walrus are very social among their species, generally packing up in small numbers or often in larger numbers in what's referred to as a "haul". Their natural predators are Polar Bear and Orca but are also hunted by humans for food and in some cases, illegally for their ivory tusks.
