When Marc and I were engaged, we were planning a big, traditional wedding. But we quickly realized that it wasn’t “us” (and being so young, we totally couldn’t afford it) so we cancelled everything and took our families to the beach and got married there. ?⠀

It was very small. Nothing fabulous, but very pretty and endearing. And we have now been married for 18 years with two children and we are still going strong. So maybe it really is less about the wedding and more about the marriage? ? ⠀

I can only speak for myself and what worked for us. However, some days I wish I had had the big wedding and the flowers and the cake (!!) but I wouldn’t change what we did for anything. ? ? ⠀
