Disappeared Quipu is part of a decades-long exploration that often includes activations by #CeciliaVicua, in which she moves, alone or with others, among the fibers and knotted strands of the work, linking movement, sound, and material to enact a physical relationship with the legacy embodied by the quipu. For Vicuña, each knot of her “quipus for the future” bears witness to the connective and expressive capacities of a language largely lost to history.⠀
