Back with another #twofertuesday! This weeks rec feature sanother blast from the Bloglin past @whitering999. When I received an email some months back announcing the album, i had to do a double take. I didn’t realize the duo still existed. They do. There are some line-up changes, the album features original vocalist Kendra Malia and new vocalist Adina. Not sure you’ll easily spot the difference. But the more surprising thing than this album listing in 2018, is how good it is. It isn’t a departure at all from their sound at the height of #witchhouse and still sounds just as incredibly urgent almost a decade since then. The press release dubbed it “a triumphant return,” gotta kinda agree.

Next up are sludgy stoners @thou_band’s most recent full-length, Magus (which is their 4th release of the year). These guys have a catalog of material that’s hard to keep up with (2014’s “Heathen” was the last album I recall). I usually dip in and out with years in between hearing their records. This one caught my notice because it was on @scaredbonesrecords. I may be mistaken (depending on how you feel about Uniform) but this may be the labels first clearly metal release. This is a good album to get reacquainted with a band that always pushed the boundaries within their dungeon of metal… or maybe dungeon isn’t the right word. They tend to get all 70s sci-fi heady with their themes.
