??? Happy Birthday to the original Firestarter, Keith Flint. We all know him as the terrifying yet electrifying vocalist for @theprodigyofficial: the 'Godfathers of Rave'. They are hailed as being the most popular and recognised Electronica or Rave act in the entire world; selling more than 30 million records. Their sound, act and look is definitive of 90's alternative subculture. Keith became involved with the Braintree bred band when he met lead member Liam Howlett at a Rave, and soon became the band's dancer. That is until he guested on vocals for Firestarter- solidifying his place as The Prodigy's vocalist alongside Maxim. WIth a double mohawk and chains swinging from his septum, his appearance on the 1996 Fat of the Land record catapulted the band into stardom. Songs like Breathe and Firestarter (which, if you didn't know, has Kim Deal of the Pixies amongst the writing credits?) perfectly crafted energy, controversy and sheer showmanship. Who else remembers seeing Keith in the Firestarter video for the first time?
