“Tiger Eyes…When thinking about Nepal one usually thinks about Mt. Everest, the Himalayan mountain range, ancient Buddhist temples, or Jon Krakauer’s novel “Into Thin Air.” We rarely associate tigers with this rugged and adventurous ecotourism destination. However, Nepal boast the fifth largest wild tiger population in the world -- up 69% since 2009 and holding the lowest poaching rate in the world at nearly zero percent -- making Nepal an ideal destination for wild tiger lovers and photographers. These majestic cats are critically endangered with an estimated world population of only two thousand in the wild due to habitat loss, deforestation and human poachers. These animals deserve our protection.
