Guys! Meet Evan! He is teacher #10 in our #10featuredteachers! Evan's wishlist will be in my bio and stories all day! In his own words, "Hi Busy! I’m a tenth grade English teacher and department chair at the amazing Thurgood Marshall Academy in Washington DC’s ward 8-one of DC’s most underserved neighborhoods. At TMA we work hard, do well and get pretty good results by reading amazing books that get kids hooked. I just said on Friday to my new class that if I had all the money in the world I’d buy them all their own copy of The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini so we could annotate the entire thing. It’s such a rich book-I’ve taught it for nine years!
Busy is so amazing she already took care of my own tenth grade class of The Kite Runner by reaching out to the publisher and asking for 125 copies and they said yes! Every student will get their own book. Amazing! Thanks Busy. So, I’m asking for other books our students read across the year so we can annotate forever. The Curious Incident of the Dog in The Night Time, Circe, A Gathering of Old Men, Sula and more!
