The US State Dept just released its study of the humanitarian crisis in Myanmar and its findings are horrifying and completely consistent with all reports from the region over the last few years. Highlighted here are a few key points.
•The third image is of Mitch McConnell, the Senate Majority Leader and the man single-handedly responsible for the removal of provisions in the NDAA (National Defense Authorization Act) that would have sanctioned the military and civilian leadership and rank-and-file responsible for these war crimes and prohibited the US government and US military from providing any kind of assistance to the #Myanmar military. It was an act of extreme cowardice and extreme callousness. It is an act that stands directly in the face of the wishes and work of the late Senator John McCain. This is the GOP now.
•The final images are of the #Rohingya people. The people so desperately in need of help and of allies, the people that an idealized America would be the first to defend, the people that McConnell has turned his back on.
