Semi trucks filled with cattle detouring away to flee from an incoming #wallCloud in rural #Oklahoma. In the pursuit of the storm you can see our truck signaling to move in closer in hot persuit. A Wall cloud is an abrupt lowering of cloud that forms beneath a cumulous cloud, a place tornadoes sometimes form, it’s an intense place to be but strikingly beautiful. Rotating wall clouds, like this one, are a sign of a mesocyclone in a thunderstorm, a place where strong tornadoes can appear. As we moved in closer we were quickly forced out as the swirling cloud looked as if it might descend and hail began to rain down. Swipe to see a small carousel of photos from this mini adventure.
