For The World at Night (TWAN) project I have spent countless hours under some of the world’s best night skies including many of the US national parks where natural night condition is protected and also celebrated by @nationalparkservice stargazing programs.
On this autumn night I was wandering in the desert next to the mesquite trees in the Death Valley National Park, California. The faint Milky Way in Perseus and Cepheus was visible in the northern sky with the Andromeda Galaxy sitting on top of the tree.
