Keepers are hand-rearing our screaming hairy armadillo pup. About a month ago, mom Amber and her two pups were rushed to the veterinary hospital after keepers found the pups had lost weight during their weekly weigh-in. They found that Amber had stopped producing milk. Despite veterinarians emergency efforts, one pup did not survive, but the second pup responded to treatment. In order to nurse him back to health, our animal care team had to separate him from Amber to provide him with more intensive care. He is doing well!
