It’s okay to double tap this photo. It doesn’t mean u like it. It means ur acknowledging something that needs to be addressed, that needs to be talked about... Domestic Violence. So many men & women hide in silence! It took me losing everything and nearly my life to finally break the cycle. At first when I talked about DV I was embarrassed, then I got mad at myself for “being so weak,” and then somehow , somewhere along the way , I grew strong and I was finally able to with PRIDE say out-loud , “I survived.” Because , not every person victimized of DV is blessed to say that. DV can happen to anyone. It happened to me. I only share a scratch of the surface w these images bc the others r too much for me & my family to revisit . Im left w scars. broken bones that healed & I suffered so much more. DV is not prejudice to gender, to age, to social or educational status. My biggest mistake wasn't loving an abuser it was not loving myself enough.I think of the life I have now n the good I bring by helping others w my story and for that I’m grateful to have a platform that I hope can inspire others to Break The Silence?
