Most of you will have seen dolphins leaping in and out of the water while they surf waves or hunt prey (in the wild or on TV), but few have witnessed this behavior from an underwater perspective. A late afternoon sardine baitball off South Africa’s Wild Coast, with hundreds of long beaked common dolphins in attendance, gave me the opportunity to photograph the exact moment a dolphin pierces the oceans surface and submerges back into the water. #dolphin #jump #ocean #sardinerun #southafrica
