Here’s a declawing vet hospital in Michigan that says this on their website. “We recommend spaying and neutering at 4 to 6 months of age. Declawing is an optional procedure for your cat and depends on your preference and the cats clawing or destructive behavior. We recommend declawing your cat as early as 12 weeks of age. This procedure however can also be performed later in life at the same time as spaying or neutering.”

I respectfully reached out to the vet, Dr Marie Breuker, at this hospital in 2016 since she also declaws many of the kitties for an animal rescue. I asked her if she could inspire the animal rescue director to stop declawing the 100’s of cats that she rescues before she puts them up for adoption. ??
Dr Breuker said,”You Will not change our minds on offering this surgery as a clinic, and unlikely to change the animal rescue director’s position on declaws. Many Americans are lazy and many prefer declawed cats even with the knowledge of the negative repercussions.”
This is the only vet that I reached out to about this issue and according to the animal rescue director and her lawyer, the vet that I reached out to was the one who advised the declawing animal rescue to file a personal protection order to silence me. ??????
Declawing vets do not want this inhumane procedure banned. ??
