Many of you may be sick of hearing about lung cancer or lung force but for me I live with the reminder of what it’s taken each day. And I try to always focus on the positive opportunity is left me to help educate others and possibly save someone’s life. If I don’t focus on this part the pieces of my heart can’t mend. So as long as I have breath I will fight for this cause in my grandmother’s honor. The absence of my grandmother is still felt in many moments I wish she was still present to share in, the absent minded times I still pick up the phone to call her or a smell of food cooking which brings me to her kitchen. The pain felt from the death of somebody you love, especially the person who has a foundational part of your life, Isn’t something easily recovered from. (I know I don’t often talk about this part.) From diagnosis to death was about 6 months. Being diagnosed in stage 4 the only hope was to remove the lung and hope it didn’t spread. (This pic was taken days after her lung removal.) Two weeks after removal they scanned her to find 8 brain tumors. Hopelessness rushes over as we were now we were faced with no treatment options, no cause, NO ANSWERS to try and make sense of this blindsiding disease. When she passed away we still didn’t know what the cause of her lung cancer was. Not only did we feel a giant loss we didn’t have any closure or understanding of it. It wasn’t until I found Lung Force that we tested for radon in their home. (Radon is the second leading cause but it doesn’t have to be. Read my stories for more info!!) When I found out it could’ve been eradicated from the home, had we been educated to look for it, another wave of anger flooded my heart as tears ran down my face. So today I am here to speak and educate because it’s all my heart knows how to do. Without the force of the @lungforce community my heart wouldn’t have a home and would still be in pieces on the floor. I believe in the work we are doing. In the progress we are making for this disease, the patients it’s effecting, and families left behind. Please read the link in my bio and if your moved donate but also share YOUR story. Because in this way our loved ones live on...
