“Like every other day over the weeks before, Syrian refugees wait near the Turkish-Syrian border, while their families remain in Kobanî. In September 2014, ISIS began to attack Kobanî; they eventually laid siege to the city in October. In order to survive, thousands of residents, including children and elders, crossed over the mine fields that separated Kobanî from the Turkish border. According to UNHCR, more than 200,000 civilians from Kobanî took refuge in the camps in Turkey.” - @emin_ozmen
