White supremacist terrorism continues to rise in various forms such as the murder of 11 Jews at the Tree of Life Synagogue, the murder of two Black people, Maurice Stallard and Vickie Jones in a Kroger, the increased militarization at the border in response to a refugee crisis, and countless other incidents.

Voting is an important tool in creating the change we want. For those that are eligible, it is our MINIMUM commitment to civic responsibility. Organizing, building collective political power is an absolute necessity (and always has been) in order to win in the future and for the victories that movements for justice already have. Remember, the Civil Rights and Voting Rights acts were won through organizing, not voting. And still, who is in office can change our ability to organize.

For those of us that are white, have class privilege, and have the life conditions that allow us to choose much of how we spend our time, we MUST UP OUR POLITICAL ENGAGEMENT. How far into white supremacy will you allow this country to sink before you decide to become more involved? It is time to show up, be uncomfortable and have the courage to fight like hell for the principles that we espouse. (Image reposed from @kifahshah )
