“The wild horses of Tonto National Forest have a wonderful resource in the Lower Salt River that flows through the Tonto National Forest as it nears Phoenix, Arizona. They use the river for their daily water, as well as a seasonal food source. This wild stallion is feeding on the eelgrass that is growing on the bottom of the shallow river, while perhaps admiring his reflection in the evening sun at the same time! Wild horses all over the country seem to be under threat of being rounded up for slaughter at the urging of cattle ranchers.
