Many first time visitors to #DeathValley #NationalPark are surprised it is not covered with a sea of sand. Less than 1 percent of this 3.4 million-acre park that is located in #California and Nevada is covered with dunes. While erosion creates plenty of sand, there are only a few areas in the park where the sand is "trapped" by geographic features such as mountains.
