In May, the rapper @offsetyrn survived a car crash, swerving to avoid a man walking in the road and slamming into a tree. When asked how the accident affected him, he said, “Slow down. That’s the biggest lesson: Slow down. Take your time. Think through your moves.” Yet for a member of the Atlanta trio @Migos, the biggest #rap group in the world, such mantras are hard to put into practice. The day after the crash, Offset was back in the studio. For most people, in most years, a near-death experience would be the marquee event. Not for Offset: In the less than 24 months since “Bad and Boujee” hit No. 1 and Migos pushed its way into the upper echelons of not just rap but pop, the group’s members have released 2 albums. There have been Grammy nominations, a sold-out tour with @ドレイク and appearances in NBA promos and “Carpool Karaoke.” Offset has emerged as the trio’s most compelling individual character. Last September, he merged his life and brand with @iamcardib’s. On Dec. 14, Offset’s 27th birthday, he will release his debut album. @peytonfulford took this photo.
