#SpeakingInDance | “Sometimes I like to picture that the notes are falling from the ceiling like little snowflakes,” said @nichscico of dancing “Excerpt From Goldberg Variations," a 2017 iteration of Steve Paxton’s solo piece. The Paxton program is being performed by the @stephenpetroniocompany in conjunction with “Judson Dance Theater: The Work Is Never Done” at the @ニューヨーク近代美術館 starting Dec. 9. "Goldberg" is set to Bach as played by Glenn Gould. “I find the harder I go at this, it just becomes a runaway train,” Nick said. “So it’s finding the Zen of being within the notes.” @stephenpetronio has a long history with Paxton, with whom he studied contact improvisation. “I feel that we can give him a portrait of himself that nobody else could,” Petronio told the @ニューヨーク・タイムズ writer @giadk. “There’s an almost organic truth to the way Steve moves. Nick follows the truth of the movement.” @mosadek made this video for #SpeakingInDance, our weekly series exploring the world of #dance.
