Death Valley #NationalPark in #California is world-famous for the size and shape of their alluvial fans, seen crisscrossing along the base of these mountains. Alluvial fans are cone-shaped accumulations of rock debris and sediment that form when the flow of water slows. Although rainfall is scarce here, raging water from an intense storm becomes a creative force, picking up and moving the debris to form these impressive aprons of rock.
