In 1966, Leonard Freed photographed an office Christmas party at a Maddison Avenue advertising agency, depicting drinking and dancing, and even a live band in the corridor. His photo series was not commissioned for a particular assignment, it was just something the photographer wanted to capture, explained his widow Brigitte Freed. “Leonard didn’t shoot individual photographs, he shot stories,” she said.
