Baby Bénédicte, is thought to be one of the world’s youngest Ebola survivors, after receiving treatment at a UNICEF-supported health centre in Beni, DR Congo. Whilst this news gives us great joy - her mother succumbed to the disease during childbirth. Bénédicte left the facility in the arms of her father and aunt. Children now account for more than one third of the Ebola cases in eastern DR Congo. In addition to supporting health centres, @unicefrdcongo is battling the outbreak by building handwashing facilities and raising awareness about prevention measures in schools and through public radio.
