As I reflect on 2018 I can say it's been quite a crazy year to say the least. It's had some ups and downs like any year. But this year was definitely a special one. Lots of things have changed in my life. I've never felt more happy, proud, and at peace with the person I am. It honestly takes a lot for me to say that. I've really struggled with my self image and acceptance for a long time. And as much as it has improved, my search for self love isn't nearly done. I still have a long way to go.
As most of you know, I came out in September that I'm gay. It was the hardest but most fulfilling things I've ever done. I didn't expect the kind of reaction that I received. The positivity and acceptance was overwhelming. However, that wasn't the reason for my coming out. I just wanted to share my story in hopes that it would make a difference and help others. The fact that I was given such a big platform to do so means the world to me. It's my passion and I can't thank all of you enough for allowing me to live my dreams.
I hope y'all can look back on 2018 and review your blessings, but also reflect on your lessons. Those "failures and heartaches" don't have to be viewed in that way. Those are the very things you learn from. As 2019 approaches, I encourage you to push forward toward your passions, goals, and dreams. It's not going to be easy. The challenges and failures will always come your way. But it's all a part of your journey! Trust it, embrace it, for this is your life and you have a purpose!❤️ Through this process, I have learned so much. I've grown in ways I never thought possible. I'm forever grateful for the people who have been there for me. For empowering me to embrace, love, and accept myself. I have made such amazing friendships with some of the most beautiful souls. They're my family, my support, my team. Thank you to each and every one of you for putting up with me and my extra ass. Sorry 'bout it! Lol!??♂️?? But in all seriousness, I can't express my gratitude for opening my mind to new ideas and perspectives. And for believing and encouraging me when I didn't believe in myself. You guys have changed my life and I love you all so much!?❤️
