"AND STILL I RISE.." 2019 marks the 400 year anniversary of the start of slave trade in West Africa. Over 12 million Africans were forcefully taken from their homes, thrown into the dungeons of slave castles, and put on ships bound for the Americas never to return. We returned today to pay homage to these our ancestors who endured unspeakable torture for centuries, and to remember that there is absolutely no reason to ever give up. We are descendants of survivors, only the strongest of the strong, and we must honor those whose shoulders we stand on. ??????????
