Throwing it back to when I was working the old #NoSmileBabySmolder?straight into the lens like a pro. I AM THESE TWO PEOPLE, two cultures, two deep-rooted family trees. What do I identify as? I'm a black man!
I was raised by a white woman to be strong when they spat at me because I was black, when they called me 'Negerkuss' because I was black, when they threw bricks through our window because I was black, when they vowed to send me back to the jungle because I was black. My blackness was earned with pride and through a child's tears. So yes, I completely identify as a Black man of mixed-cultural heritage. I'm Ghanaian-German. - Mom, just look at the camera already. Not that difficult!
