@uwo gifts us a view of the candy orange-vermillion facade of San Francisco's most notable icon — the Golden Gate Bridge. It's hard to imagine the structure being any other color — but did you know at one point during construction the Navy had wanted the bridge to be painted yellow and black? These colors made it easier for ships navigating the waters to more easily identify structures or obstructions in the city's notorious fog. Thankfully, "international orange" — the official name of the gate's color — provides just as much visibility. We couldn't imagine it dressed any other way! (?: @uwo ?: Golden Gate Bridge)
