Experience Lucio Fontana’s “Spatial Environment in Red Light,” now on view on Floor 5 of @MetBreuer. The labyrinthine space of narrow hallways and red walls is infused with red neon light to affect the visitor’s perception of space. The saturated, enveloping effect of the red light blurs the definition of the walls and the movement of the visitor becomes part of the work.
This work is part of the exhibition “Lucio Fontana: On the Threshold,” which opens January 23. On that date, the three other environments that have been reconstructed for this exhibition will also be open for viewing. One will be presented on Floor 3 of The Met Breuer, another at The Met Fifth Avenue in Gallery 913, and a third at @ElMuseo. #MetLucioFontana #MetModern #MetBreuer #TheMet
