With all the rain in LA, I’ve been thinking a lot about the old man in ”It’s Raining, It’s Pouring.” He was snoring. Fine. Lots of old men do. But then he went to bed...and bumped his head. How did this happen? Was it on the way to bed? In bed? Did he have a nightmare, wake up all hot and scared, go downstairs for a glass of warm milk, trip over the little tray table he left out from when he was eating his Salisbury Steak TV dinner (that he only likes for the tiny cherry cobbler dessert square) while watching Columbo reruns and bump his head on his recliner right where the fabric ripped in turn exposing a piece of hard metal and thus making that bump a real doozy? Is this why he couldn’t get up in the morning?!?! Or is he just lazy and didn’t feel like getting up? Is there any relation to the aforementioned snoring...is this a sleep apnea thing? Or are we just going to continue singing about the fact that he may be kaput? DOES ANYONE HAVE EYES ON THE OLD MAN?!
