While we are very excited and honored to be exhibiting Frida Kahlo’s personal objects from La Casa Azul and paintings from the Jacques and Natasha Gelman Collection of 20th Century Mexican Art, the upcoming exhibition offers us a chance to delve deeper into our own collection of Mesoamerican Art. Some of the works that will go on display were selected for their shared similarities with objects that decorated the artist’s home.
