I’ve been there. The depression that hits after an ostomy makes suicide seem like a very easy choice for an adult, let alone a child. Seeing your body change so drastically and quickly while wondering where you now stand in the worlds view is bound to alter your psyche.

Only difference is as an adult I had the mental fortitude and support system to ask for help. That is a concept that is hard to grasp for any child. These are the real world repercussion for the climate were in. The reality of this story is that a child took his own life AFTER receiving a life saving surgery. After getting healthy. After surviving. Kill the stigma, not the patient. Rest In Peace kid. I’m sorry the world wasn’t where it needed to be for you to thrive. .
